Monthly Meeting - September 16th - Michael Quinn Sullivan and Keith Self. Seating is in the Grill

Michael Quinn Sullivan is president and CEO of Empower Texans and its premier project, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility. The Fort Worth Star Telegram said Sullivan “slays taxpayer dragons in Austin… When the heat is on in Austin, Michael Quinn Sullivan knows how to make it even hotter.”

Texas Monthly dubbed him “the enforcer,” on their list of the 25 most influential Texans. The Dallas Morning News has called him the state’s most influential unelected Republican. After graduation from Texas A&M University, Sullivan was a reporter for two daily newspapers before working on Capitol Hill for a Member of Congress.

He worked at the Media Research Center in Alexandria, VA, then returned to Texas to launch the Austin office of the influential Texas Public Policy Foundation. In 2006, he left the Foundation to become the president of Empower Texans. A fifth generation Texan and an Eagle Scout, Sullivan and his wife have three children, a son-in-law, and a dog. Michael writes the popular Texas Minute daily news email and he hosts a podcast of the same name. He is the author of two books, including "Reflections on Life and Liberty.”

Our Congressman, US Representative Keith Self, will speak about current affairs in Washington and the status of his re-election race and other key National races.

Congressman Self was elected to be our Representative from Texas Congressional District 3 in 2022.  He is currently serving on two House Committees: Veteran’s Affairs and Foreign Affairs.  He has been instrumental in supporting resolution of border issues and control of government spending through regular order of appropriations bills, He has become a go-to Congressman on conservative issues such as election integrity and the inability of President Biden to perform his job.

Prior to his election to Congress, he served Collin County as County Judge from 2006 to 2018.  After graduating from West Point, he served 25 years in the Airborne Infantry and Special Forces and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He and his wife, Tracy, live in McKinney.
